On the other hand, subtotal splenectomy (STS) could be an alternative therapy for HS. WebThe patient successfully underwent single-port, robotic splenectomy - the first known splenectomy in a child using this approach. Furthermore, during the operation an accessory spleen was encountered in the omentum and was also successfully removed robotically. The patient tolerated the procedure well.
