WebbIt's more likely that the the read error is from what most PS2s have read errors from; you have a dirty laser lens or the laser is going out. Remove the top (there's six hidden screws on the bottom of the case and side) carefully, then take the top off of the optical drive. Gently clean the laser lens with isopropyl alcohol and a q-tip.
