NettetI'll preface this by saying I'm not an outboard mechanic, just a common sense guy who’s wrenched on all sorts of stuff over the years. I have a ‘99 Mercury 15hp 2 stroke, and I rebuilt the carb recently. It would easily start on 1/2 of a pull, but wouldn't run on idle, and would slowly die when I pushed the choke in.
